Not many Managing Directors have to endure altitude sickness, sub-zero temperatures, US Special Forces training (and a diet of beans and sausages). But that is exactly what Core’s MD, Patricia O’Hagan did to win the BBC programme ‘Chasing The Dollar’. The BBC Programme, brought together 18 entrepreneurs from across Northern Ireland. After making their Dragon’s Den style pitches, five entrepreneurs were selected to attend ‘entrepreneur boot-camp’ in Denver, Colorado.
The entrepreneurs completed business coaching and mental and physical challenges in the mountains, including saddling and packing a reluctant mule. “At times we were at one and a half miles above sea level. It was exhausting and exhilarating at the same time” says Patricia.
Patricia’s Company, Core, based in North Belfast, have used the competition prize of bespoke support, sponsored by Invest Northern Ireland, to further establish their US business.
