Direct 2 Inmate

Core’s Direct 2 Inmate is a multi purpose inmate interactive system. It provides an interface for inmates to directly access information and make service requests. The system releases Officers from a layer of routine administrative tasks and helps to alleviate constant requests from inmates.

Direct 2 Inmate stations are protected with a biometric login to restrict access to authorised inmates. On successful identification of the inmate, the system initiates the user’s personal session on the system. Hence questions such as “When is my release date? How much money do I have in my account? When is my next court date? Who is booked for my next visit?” can be answered immediately, directly and accurately to the inmate.

Direct 2 Inmate is modular to accommodate the various needs of a wide range of custodial facilities. The system can efficiently integrate with other third-party applications, enabling seamless transfer of information to and from any supported platform.

Features

  • Prison Information – The system includes a Content Management System (CMS) that enables establishments to compose and publish general prison information.  Inmates can read rules and regulations, discover what is available (e.g. prison shop, training opportunities) and obtain news and events updates.
  • FAQs - This module enables inmates to seek out information for themselves, making them less dependent or reliant on Officers.  It provides answers to commonly asked questions such as:
    • What is my release date?
    • When is my next visit?
    • When is my next court appearance?
    • How much money do I have
  • Messaging – Inmates can send and receive both internal and external e-messages. The messaging system is database driven so it doesn’t use SMTP or e-mail technology. This means there is no risk of inmates being able to access the Internet. Inmate contacts are strictly controlled.
  • Requests and Complaints - Using the interactive interface, inmates complete electronic requests and complaint forms. The Officer views the request or grievance recorded and logs the action taken. In turn inmates can track progress of the request or complaint through Direct 2 Inmate.
  • Shop – This module has been specifically designed for the unique requirements of the Custodial environment and eliminates the need for manual ordering. Inmates can order goods from the prison shop electronically and money is automatically deducted from their account.
  • Inmate Account - Inmates are constantly seeking information about their finances. This can often lead to frustration.  The system provides links to the inmate’s account and allows the inmate to directly access information such as current balance and an account statement.
  • Inmate Schedule - The schedule allows inmates to view details about up and coming appointments, activities and visits.
  • Law Library - Access to law library information can be expensive for facilities to provide.  It can also be very time consuming for inmates searching through legal journals.  Direct 2 Inmate eliminates the need for large book libraries at establishments and provides inmates with instant access through a secure environment.
  • Meal Selection – This module manages the administration of inmate meal selections.  It captures meal choices for inmates housed in a particular location and provides a collated list for the catering staff to ensure Inmates receive the correct meal ordered.
  • Case Management Tool - This is a configurable planning tool that can be customised to suit a range of applications e.g. resettlement or induction planning.  It enables Officers, Support staff and inmates to work together to define personalised goals and to identity the activities necessary to achieve those goals.  Inmates can view their personal plan and progress directly on the system.
