Core’s Custody Suite Management solution has been designed to facilitate the management of detainees in line with the requirements to fully record what happens during the detainee’s time in custody. Its simple, user-friendly interface enables custody officers to easily carry out all necessary procedures and actions. It also supplies them with real time information and provides a full audit trail of events.
The busy and pressured environment of today’s custody suites means that there is limited time to deal with the administration required to maintain the custody log. It is therefore essential that Custody Officers have the tools they need to manage it efficiently.
Features
- Detainee Booking - The detainee booking section enables the user to record all details of new detainees e.g. name, offence, detention details, medical conditions, cell information, observation level etc.
- Cell Management - The cell management module presents the user with a schematic of all the cells within the custody suite. By clicking on a cell, the user can view details of the current detainee and the cell history.
- Key Management – Provides the Custody Officer with the facility to assign keys to different locations and personnel, activate and de-activate keys and view key histories.
- Custody Whiteboard - The custody whiteboard is an electronic version of the traditional whiteboard used in custody suites. It provides the officer with high level information about the detainees held in each cell e.g. sex, offence and date and time of detainment.
- Custody Log – The custody log gives a breakdown of activities for a particular detainee. It provides the officer with an audit trail of who, where, when and what happened e.g. door locked, observation hatch opened etc. There is also a section for additional notes e.g. detainee offered a drink.
- Tag Management – Detainees and officers can be assigned RFID tags which enable their locations within the custody suite to be determined. Tag Management enables tag-holders to be located and their details to be viewed electronically.
- Reporting - The Reporting facility enables the user to produce and build an extensive range of custom and exception reports.
Benefits
- Improved Safety – From the console users can take remote control of electronic devices (i.e. doors) supporting staff in incident aversion and containment. Real time information from the console is available about the detainees i.e. health issues thereby reducing risk to staff and people in custody.
- Improved Accountability – An audit trail within the system records all events i.e. when a door or hatch opens along with alarms and operator actions. Hence a real time record of who, when, where and what happened is available.
- Reduce administration overhead – Records of events can be auto generated i.e. acknowledgement of alarms and cell calls. This can be used to create an entry in the detainee log. It is also possible to transfer this information to other systems; hence reducing replication of data.
- User-friendly interface - Designed with the user in mind, the systems intuitive user interface presents a graphical display showing all doors and control statuses.
- Improved security - Consoles are protected with biometric fingerprint login to restrict access to authorised personnel. As the system is privilege based each personnel is assigned user privileges relevant to their job role. If electronic keys or tags are comprised or lost, they can instantly be disabled from the console.
