Core is a privately owned software development company based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Established in 1994, the company is the UK leading expert in identity management solutions for high security facilities. Our innovative biometric solutions play a vital role in maintaining control within the highest security establishments in Europe.
Core was instrumental in developing advanced security management systems during the 'Troubles' in Northern Ireland. The complex and unique history of the local security forces must be set in the context of the civil unrest in Northern Ireland over the past 30 years.
During that time, 1123 members of the security forces were murdered because of their employment. Many others including their families and suppliers were permanently or seriously injured or have been subject to prolonged intimidation and abuse. As a result of the challenges faced by these agencies an innovative approach to service delivery was required. By utilising leading edge technology in conjunction with highly trained staff, the Security Services were able to maintain control and accountability during these challenging times.
Our specialist knowledge and experience gained during this period has put us at the forefront of the industry for over 10 years. Our work in the custodial market has received considerable recognition both locally and internationally. In 2008 Core established Tusa Inc a U.S. subsidiary.
With a user base that stretches across Ireland, the United Kingdom, America and Malaysia the positive effects of the peace process and the Good Friday Agreement continue to be felt by everyone at Core. "Without it, and the new era it created, our products would still be a very well kept secret."
