► NORTHERN IRELAND PRISON SERVICE (NIPS)
  • Security and Access Control

Core developed a custom software solution to track several groups of people (staff, contractors and inmates) for Northern Ireland Prison Service. The system incorporates production of photo id and access control using multiple biometric technologies. This includes a live head count of people in zoned areas, anti-passback capability, real time reporting and full audit trial.

► IRISH PRISON SERVICE (IPS)
  • Staff Biometric Identity Management system

Core were contracted to provide a system that would support Irish Prison Service's search procedures and to assist the Operational Support Group (OSG) in ten facilities across the prison estate. Core developed a custom software solution which enables staff to verify themselves on the hand readers in the search area.

► POLICE SERVICE OF NORTHERN IRELAND (PSNI)
  • Integrated Security Management System

Core has provided an integrated front end for the Police Service of Northern Ireland to manage multiple electronic security devices. The project included integration of perimeter fence detection, CCTV and fire alarm detection. The system incorporates communication and status information for security management through a centralised control interface. Remote monitoring of electronic security equipment is enabled from control consoles at designated control points. Operators can take control of individual devices from the consoles. The system incoproates a full audit trail of events, alarms and responses.

  • Computer Access Solution

The Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) implemented a comprehensive; service wide Inmate Information System (PRISM) in 2005. For the first time computers were located in areas that prisoners have access to. Core were contracted to provide an additional layer of security to prevent unauthorised assess to the confidential rated data held on the system.
Core identified the risks and proposed a range of solutions. NIPS selected an option utilising biometric technology to identify users and control access to the secure network on which the PRISM system operates. It was independently penetration tested prior to user acceptance.

► YOUTH JUSTICE AGENCY
  • Visitor Identification and Key Management

Core were commissioned by the Youth Justice Agency to develop and implement a Visitors Identification and Key Management System. The system allows for the production of identification cards. It maintains a full audit trail and provides a real-time "Who's In" report. The system also has a key management facility which records key allocation to authorised personnel. This is currently installed and supported in the Corporate Headquarters in Belfast and the main residential unit at Rathgael in Bangor, Northern Ireland.
